No apples, pears or mangoes dropped on my head, I ain’t an IITian and neither I was voted as oneĀ of the brightest minds in the history of my college, than how come I becameĀ a writer? Puzzling for some I guess.
One fine Saturday morning on the 19th of March, 2008, while I was whiling was the hours idling, my little pea sized brain sparked an idea, an idea which would later take the shape of my debut book.
I kept shredding pages after pages, preparing drafts after drafts and showering on my friends the filthiest of Hindi abuses until the end of October when I finally decided on the final storyline. It wasn’t the end.
Agra’s chilling winter arrived and with it came my first rejection. It was expected since I didn’t have a Bhagat, a Desai or a Rushdie for my surname. It was then I knocked at the doors of Srishti Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi..and to my utter surprise, the response was quick. Super-quick. Three days later it was a nod. A momentous occasion for me.
In the summer of 2009, after a few final hiccups, I finally wrapped up the book. It was exhilarating. I was upbeat after a tough year. On the 17th of May, 2010 ‘The Journey Of Rock’ was released. I was elated.
Now, I want to thank all my friends and well wishers who have been with me through the toughest of times and kept me motivated. All I know is that, ” It’s better to burn out than to fade away”. \m/ Keep Rocking Guys.
